Code of Conduct for Digital Spaces
The Basics
This Code of Conduct exists to set out the behaviour expectations you agree to when you use our spaces, and to tell you how we’ll handle violations.
General Principles
Zero tolerance: We do not tolerate racism,classism, ableism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, acephobia, or any other bigoted behaviour.
Inclusivity: We celebrate diversity but we prioritise the voices of the most marginalised. Please listen more than you speak
Responsibility: We promote personal responsibility. Please understand the potential power of your words and and a sincere apology when you get it wrong
By participating in Biscuit’s online and digital spaces you agree to follow this Code of Conduct and contribute to creating an environment that is welcoming, supportive, respectful, and enriching for everyone.
Behaviour Guidelines
Be Reasonable
Trolling is not tolerated
Hate speech is not tolerated
Malicious misgendering is not tolerated
Be kind: Do not insult, belittle, mock, bully or harass other users
Criticise Constructively: Aim to be helpful and constructive rather than dismissive or unkind.
Credit Creators: If you share creative works please credit the artist/writer/creator if possible
Aim for Accessibility: Please use alt text for any images you share, keep your language broadly accessible and offer clarity if someone asks for it.
Respect Security and Privacy
You may not dox users
You may not screenshot or otherwise share any user content with malintent: Sharing user submitted content for the purposes of outing, mockery or other malicious reasons (whether identifying information is redacted or not) will result in permanent removal from all Biscuit’s digital spaces
You may not disclose other people's personal information to anyone: Please be cautious when sharing your own personal information and do not share anyone else's in any form
What we’ll do
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in the following actions:
Removal of harmful or offensive content
A warning or reminder about the guidelines
Temporary or permanent removal from our spaces both digitally and offline
