Organisations we Partner With
At Biscuit we are proud to partner with other groups and organisations, whether it be for a single project, a programme of bi+ learning events or a long-term relationship. We’ve produced research reports for specific organisations and worked with lots of people and groups on a one off basis to build their cultural competency, their outreach skills, or their understanding of bi+ communities.
When it comes to events like the Bi+ Pride Picnic, we work with London Bi Meet Up Group, Bisexual Index and the Bi Survivors Network every year to make it happen. We also work with these organisations on other events and share resources and skills to maximise what we can achieve. You’ll find us organising rallies together, supporting each others work and sharing what we can, when we can.
If you’d like to work with us, perhaps on a visibility project or bi+ community event, we’d love to hear from you! If you’re interested in bi+ awareness and inclusion training or community focused improvement consultancy, we can do that too. From bespoke workshops and presentations to ongoing expert advice, we’re here to help.
In the meantime, let us introduce you to our favourite bi+ organisations working nationally.
Bisexual Survivors Network is a peer-led support group for bi+ survivors of sexual abuse and intimate partner abuse.
They offer biweekly moderated chats via telegram for survivors to discuss their experiences and work towards healing in a safer space.
Bisexual people are more likely than both straight and gay people to report rape or sexual assualt and intimate partner abuse, yet we’re also more likely to report a lack of sufficient culturally aware support.
Many bi+ people do not feel comfortable using mainstream survivor support services or LGBTQ specific services, fearing homophobia from mainstream services and biphobia from both, and research into the lived experiences of bi+ survivors suggests these fears are not ungrounded.
Aside from survivor support, BSN seeks to address the biphobia that leaves bi+ people vulnerable to abuse and educate our communities on the warning signs.
Founded in 2009, Bisexual Index is an activist network that provides support and resources to bi+ activists in the UK.
The Index was conceived of at a workshop at BiCon 2007, and launched less than two years later. Since then, the team has offered advice, resources and support to bi+ people who are involved in all forms of queer activism, got involved with training days and mentored several prominent activists. Resources produced by Bisexual Index are routinely used by bi+ and queer organisations nationwide.
In 2019 Founder Marcus Morgan was recognised as a ‘volunteeing point of light’ and bisexual champion by the British Government.
