Supporting Biscuit

There are lots of ways you can support Biscuit, from volunteering at an event or helping us package merchandise, to making a donation to our running costs or buying something from our Amazon wish list. Our volunteers and supporters make Biscuit what it is, and we are truly thankful.

Volunteering and Skill Swaps

At Biscuit we know that we can’t do everything ourselves. We often need a hand with a task we haven’t got the skills or the time for, or another pair of eyes at a well attended event. Our community is central to our mission, and we want to empower you to be an active part of it.

When we’re running a specific project, we’ll

often put a call out on social media for the specific skills we need, but you can reach out at any time to let us know you’re interested!

We also invite other community organisations to get in touch for mutual skill swaps or joint projects. We believe in the power of grassroots activism and social and politcial organising, and we believe that strenghtening ties to other small or niche organisations can only be a good thing. We can offer

  • Bi+ awareness and cultural competancy training

  • Single issue quick-learn sessions

  • Other bespoke workshops and presentations

  • Resource sharing

  • Administrative and behind-the-scenes support

Financial and Material Support

Everything we do at Biscuit is funded by our community.

We don’t have a high enough turnover to register as a charity, which means we’re not elligible to apply for grants from a lot charitable trusts and foundations.

It costs just £800 a year to keep Biscuit

running. None of our team are paid and we don’t have a physical premises (yet!) so that figure mainly represents admin costs like

  • IT costs like hosting and software

  • Keeping resources like our Biscuit Guides in print

  • Making sure expenses paid by our volunteers are refunded or advanced (in the case of travel tickets) when they donate their time or services

  • Postage costs and related stationery

  • Hiring event spaces around twice a year

We’d love to extend the services we can offer, prioritising in-person, virtual and hybrid events outside of Greater London. If you’d like to support our work, please pick click below or scroll down for other ways to help out.
